Your Role
We're looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Graduate of Architecture to join our Brisbane team. This is a great opportunity to work across a range of sectors, from commercial to industrial, supporting the delivery of projects within a close-knit team. You'll work closely with our Brisbane Senior Architect day to day, while also tapping into the depth of experience across our interstate offices, playing an active part in shaping project outcomes early in your career.
It's a fantastic opportunity to get your hands on a real variety of work, from concept through to documentation and delivery, building your skills, your confidence and your network as you go.
We are ideally looking for a full-time candidate, but are open to flexible arrangements for the right person. Please share your preferences in your application.
Your Responsibilities
- Deliver assigned project tasks on brief, on time and within budget, across commercial, mixed use and large retail projects.
- Assist with documentation, specifications and schedules across all phases, from concept design through to construction.
- Liaise with project teams and communicate progress to Senior Architects, Senior Project Leaders and Associates.
- Attend site visits and support contract administration and construction liaison tasks.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants and project stakeholders.
- Contribute fresh thinking and a considered approach to design outcomes across the project team.
- Support project coordination, including meeting agendas, minutes and general administrative tasks.
- Develop your architectural skills and knowledge through ongoing learning, mentoring and Watson Young's Career POD process.
About You - Minimum 2 years' experience working on commercial, mixed use and/or large retail projects, with industrial sector experience highly regarded.
- Confident Revit user, with sound technical drawing and documentation skills.
- Working knowledge of the NCC, relevant Australian Standards and construction methodology.
- A growth mindset, with a genuine willingness to learn, seek feedback and continuously improve.
- Proactive, organised and a clear communicator, comfortable collaborating across a project team.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Architectural Design or similar.
