We’re partnering with a well-established construction contractor in Christchurch seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in estimating and tendering. This opportunity would suit a contractor-side QS currently based in Auckland who’s open to relocating for a strong role, better lifestyle balance, and long-term stability.

The role offers a healthy mix of office-based estimating and on-site commercial involvement, keeping you close to both pricing and delivery.

The role

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
• Complete take-offs, pricing and cost plans for upcoming projects
• Manage subcontractor pricing, comparisons and negotiations
• Support live projects with cost control, forecasting and variations
• Split time between office and site, staying connected to delivery
• Work closely with PMs, site teams and senior leadership

About you

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a construction contractor
• Strong capability in estimating and tendering
• Solid understanding of construction sequencing and methodologies
• Confident across pre- and post-contract stages
• Commercially minded with strong attention to detail
• Open to relocating from Auckland to Christchurch
