We’re working with a well-established Christchurch based construction contractor seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This role suits someone confident in estimating, tendering, and cost management, who enjoys a mix of office-based work and time on site.
This is a hands-on QS role where you’ll be involved from early pricing through to live project delivery, working closely with project teams and subcontractors.

The role

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
• Complete take-offs, pricing and cost plans for upcoming projects
• Manage subcontractor pricing, comparisons and negotiations
• Support project teams with cost control, forecasting and variations
• Attend site as required to stay close to project delivery
• Work collaboratively with PMs, site teams and senior management

About you

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a construction contractor, residential and or commercial experience wanted 
• Strong background in estimating and tendering
• Solid understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing
• Confident working across both pre- and post-contract stages
• Strong commercial judgement and attention to detail
• Comfortable splitting time between site and office
