About the role

We’re seeking an Intermediate Professional Quantity Surveyor to join our client’s Draw Down team based near Auckland CBD. This is a full-time opportunity to work on a diverse range of construction projects. As part of a team of eight (including three partners) you will be providing essential cost management and commercial support from early design through to project completion.
What you'll be doing

• Undertaking detailed cost planning and cost control activities to ensure projects remain on budget
• Preparing and analysing tender documentation, bills of quantities and contract documents
• Negotiating and managing subcontractor and supplier contracts
• Providing timely and accurate cost reporting to project stakeholders
• Identifying and helping to resolve commercial issues and disputes
• Liaising with clients, contractors and other consultants as required
• Supporting the team with ad hoc quantity surveying tasks as needed

What we're looking for

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
• 3+ years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the consultancy sector
• Strong working knowledge of construction contracts, cost planning, contract administration and bank reporting
• Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
