Shape Communities, Drive Progress – Intermediate Project Manager Opportunity
This well-established project management consultancy has earned a solid reputation for delivering results across some of New Zealand’s most important infrastructure projects. With a footprint that spans the country, they offer expertise across project delivery, procurement, and strategic advisory services.
Their project portfolio is broad — from vertical builds in healthcare, education, and civic spaces, through to major horizontal infrastructure in transport, marine, rail, and water. Even through recent market turbulence, they’ve continued to expand, backed by strong leadership, robust systems, and a values-driven team culture that encourages collaboration, development, and ambition.
The Opportunity:
Due to continued growth, an opening has emerged for an Intermediate Project Manager to join the team. You’ll be working under the guidance of experienced senior PMs while taking ownership of your own workstreams across live projects.
In this role, you’ll be involved in:
- Leading early-stage planning, consultant appointments, feasibility reviews, and procurement strategy
- Overseeing construction phase delivery — managing programme, budgets, risk, QA, and reporting
- Coordinating stakeholders, leading site meetings, and ensuring alignment between all parties
- Ensuring delivery aligns with client expectations, statutory processes, and best-practice standards
What we’re looking for:
You’ll ideally bring
3–6 years of experience in project management from a
consultancy or client-side environment, with exposure to both vertical builds (education, healthcare, civic, industrial) and, ideally, some horizontal infrastructure (transport, utilities, etc.).
You’ll also have: - A relevant tertiary qualification
- Strong communication skills, confidence leading meetings, and the ability to build lasting relationships
- A proactive mindset, keen eye for detail, and genuine passion for the built environment
Why Apply? - Deliver work that genuinely impacts NZ communities
- Be part of a team that’s growing with purpose and structure
- Access professional development, mentoring and career pathways
- Competitive salary ($100K–$130K depending on experience) plus benefits
If you're ready to take the next step in your career and work on projects that matter, we’d love to hear from you.
