Diesel Mechanic & Heavy Machinery Operator

Lynx Recruitment are looking for someone who knows their way around both diesel engines and heavy machinery. If you’re the type who doesn’t mind getting your hands dirty, can keep machines running smoothly, and enjoys variety in your day-to-day, we’d love to hear from you.

About the Role: This is a hands-on role where you’ll be splitting your time between the workshop and on-site work. You’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing a range of diesel-powered vehicles and gear, as well as jumping on the machines yourself when needed.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Diagnosing and repairing faults in diesel engines and hydraulic systems
• Carrying out regular maintenance on heavy machinery
• Operating gear like excavators, loaders, and other earthmoving equipment
• Keeping things running safely and efficiently, whether in the yard or on site

What We’re After:

• Solid experience as a diesel mechanic (bonus if you can weld!)
• Confident operating heavy machinery
• Good knowledge of hydraulics, engines, and general mechanical systems
• Reliable, self-motivated, and safety-focused
• Full NZ driver’s licence – WTR endorsements are a big plus
