This commercial contractor has really made a name for themselves by taking on complex, high-rise projects that others tend to shy away from. They’re steadily growing across Auckland, Wellington, and Queenstown, and have built a strong reputation for delivering quality work with smart, efficient processes.

Their project pipeline is made up of multi-storey commercial builds, with a big focus on in-situ concrete, detailed architectural finishes, and tight city sites.

The team is tight-knit and collaborative, and engineers are given the chance to be involved in every stage of the build, with plenty of autonomy and real responsibility along the way!

About the role / responsibilities:

You’ll be joining the team as a Site Engineer, playing a key role in supporting the day to day delivery of high-rise commercial projects. Reporting to a Project Manager or Site Manager, you’ll work across:

• Structural works (especially in-situ concrete), ensuring accuracy and quality in formwork, steel fixing, and pours.
• Documentation management, including ITPs, site diaries, RFIs, and subcontractor coordination.
• Plan interpretation and layout, assisting with set-outs, sequencing, and quality assurance.
• Supporting with site safety compliance, programme tracking, and liaising with consultants, clients, and suppliers.

To succeed, you’ll need:

• Experience in commercial construction (preferably with a structural or high-rise focus).
• Proven exposure to vertical construction and in-situ concrete methodologies.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with foremen, subcontractors, and site managers.
• A proactive attitude, with a knack for anticipating issues and solving problems on the fly.
• Sound knowledge of NZ Building Codes, H&S legislation, and engineering best practice.
