Smart Building Systems Manager
£80,000 - £90,000 basic salary + £5000 car allowance + 16% bonus + private healthcare

Due to a major HQ transformation in Canary Wharf, set to go live in Q1 2026, a large FM provider is looking for a tech-savvy, solutions-driven leader to ensure the seamless integration and ongoing performance of its next-generation building automation, IoT, and data-driven systems to work for a leading FM provider.  This role offers a unique opportunity to work with state-of-the-art Intelligent Building (IB) systems in a brand-new, high-tech corporate headquarters. The building integrates smart technology, Building Information Modeling (BIM), IoT, and automation, providing a fantastic opportunity to be at the forefront of modern FM technology and digital transformation.

Main Duties: 

• Manage and maintain smart building systems (BMS, EMS, lighting control, and more).
• Be the first line of response for system issues, troubleshooting faults, and ensuring optimal performance.
• Work with cloud-based building analytics and automation platforms to drive efficiency.
• Plan and oversee maintenance activities, working closely with suppliers and tech teams.
• Monitor environmental factors like temperature, humidity, and space utilization to enhance the workplace experience.
• Support team training, coaching, and future recruitment as the smart building team grows.
• Lead the transition from project to operation, working closely with contractors, engineers, and tech partners.

Requirements: 

• A strong technical background in building automation, IB systems, or smart building technology.
• Experience with BMS, EMS, PMS, SCADA, IoT, or similar technologies.
• Familiarity with networking, cloud environments, and IT/OT integrations.
• A proactive, solutions-driven mindset ideally someone who thrives in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment.
• Leadership experience as this role starts with two direct reports and will grow over time.
• If you have experience in Modbus, BACnet, MQTT, SQL servers, Active Directory, or smart workplace solutions, that’s a huge plus!
