Position: Project Officer

Salary: $37.35 (including casual loading) plus superannuation

Primary Purpose of the Position
Lead the end-to-end delivery of projects, ensuring they’re completed on time, on budget, and to a high standard. Drive collaboration across contractors, consultants, and stakeholders while managing risks and delivering real value to the community.
  
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

• Ensure the provision of quality customer service.
• Coordinate assigned projects from inception to completion.
• Provide specialist technical advice and project management services for these projects including managing PCGs, status reporting, contract administration including budget and time management.
• Co-ordinate all parties involved in these projects including designers, suppliers, utilities, contractors, consultants and internal project partners to achieve the functional, time and cost objectives of the projects.
• Prepare requests for tender and quotation including standard contractual documentation and reviewing of specifications and drawings for inclusion in tender documentation.
• Project managed delivery of assigned projects from design stage to construction completion including stakeholder consultation and liaison with associated government departments. 
• Report regularly to the Manager Works and Projects and other relevant managers and stakeholders.
• This position requires you to make informed decisions regarding preparation of project budgets, and other management information, building, civil and environmental engineering practices and procedures on a day-to-day basis.
• Make informed decisions on tender and contract issues that will deliver quality projects and value for money.
• Establish and maintain open and cooperative relationships between all contacts both within and outside.
• Convene regular project meetings with project partners.
• Implement the required procurement and scheduling process.
• Identify and priorities areas of risk within each project.
• Develop (for approval) and implement measures to manage such risks.
• Ensure that each project is professionally managed within defined parameters.
• Perform other duties as required by Manager.

  
Expected working times are 38 hours per week 8.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday
    
Desirable Criteria

• Post graduate qualification
• 2 to 5 years’ experience in managing multiple projects at a time from end to end.
• Experience in the delivery of a variety of projects with an emphasis on experience in buildings.
• Skilled in the use of computer software, MS word, excel, outlook, project etc.
• Excellent communication and written skills.
• Working in Local Government

  Essential Criteria

• Relevant qualifications in Building Construction Project Management and/or extensive job related experience
• Class C drivers’ licence
• WHS construction induction certification.
