Our client is looking for a community minded Event Coordinator for a 4 month contract - Science Community Day
Job Title: Community Programs Event Coordinator

Hours/day: 21 – 3 days
Hours/week: 7
Pay Rate: $68 PH + super
OT Required: Not before 30 June. May be required with extension
Location: Australian Botanic Garden, 362 Narellen Road, Mt Annan
Key accountabilities of the role:
• Undertakes all aspects of planning and delivering the Community Day event at the Australian Botanic Garden, such as overseeing general event logistics and liaising with the Events team, Rangers and other internal stakeholders to ensure the smooth running of the event.
• Works with education staff to contribute to and oversee programming and delivery of activities.
• Develop and provide reports and metrics on a regular basis, including budget tracking, community engagement, and internal feedback about engagement activities .
• Gather and collate information for, and prepare documentation and reports to provide accurate, timely and complete information which enables planning, review and continual improvement of services.
• Liaise with Marketing and Media teams to promote events and community engagement.
Key Challenges of the role:
• Planning and managing the coordination of resources required for the delivery of the event and following up on project activities.
• Delivering quality support and negotiating workable timeframes, the need to address unforeseen issues, the high volume of work and the need to work independently.
• Delivering a quality and highly engaging event for audiences in south western Sydney in August.
Inherent requirements of the role/Essential Skills and Experience
• Experience in planning and delivering programs and events for family audiences at cultural institutions or similar organisations
• Experience in project and stakeholder management
• Experience in budget management and evaluation/reporting.
