Position: Senior Health & Safety Field Officer
Start: ASAP
Duration: End January 2025
Salary: $39.73 per hour plus superannuation
Location: Port Macquarie
 
Primary Purpose of the position
The Senior Health & Safety Field Officer is responsible for leading WHS system and process development, providing reporting, carrying out risk management and quality assurance activities, and conducting investigations across the organisation.  This role will work across multiple sites within the region to promote zero harm objectives.
 
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

• Lead WHS system and process development and implementation
• Operate and analysis of data within the internal safety database (Bold system)
• Compile and distribute WHS and performance reports by using databases to extract data and turn into meaningful reporting documentation
• Carry out risk management activities including conducting risk assessments and maintaining risk registers
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on WHS matters, roles and responsibilities
• Provide strategic guidance to drive best safety practices and compliance
• Undertake quality/safety lead assurance activities and audits
• Lead and conduct investigations on safety issues and assist in developing improvement plans based on findings
• Demonstrate knowledge and ability to evaluate and implement Zero Harm policies and procedures and ensure compliance.

 Desirable Criteria

• Diploma or higher qualification in Work Health & Safety
• Previous experience in the use of the Bold Safety Database is highly desirable
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to influence stakeholders at all business levels.
• Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills
• Well-developed skills in research, systems and process, data analysis and evaluation
• Great MS Excel skills
