Our client is looking for a Document Control Specialist to support our Group WHS operations through the development and maintenance of critical safety documentation in line with ISO 45001.
This key role is responsible for writing, coordinating, and controlling the suite of policies, procedures, safe operating procedures, work instructions, forms, and checklists that form the backbone of our Safety Management System across our national operations.
Reporting to the Group Risk and Compliance function, you’ll collaborate closely with site teams, operational managers and support services to ensure our documentation reflects best practice, regulatory compliance, and real-world operational needs.
Key Responsibilities...
Safety Management System Development & Compliance
- Develop and maintain WHS documentation aligned with ISO 45001 and the Group’s Safety, Quality & Environmental Policy.
- Promote standardised and auditable safety documentation across Manildra Group’s Australian operations.
Auditing, Inspection & Compliance Support - Participate in internal/external audits and inspections as the point of contact for document control.
- Provide timely and accurate documentation to support investigations and WHS queries.
Systems Administration & Data Management - Manage business information systems including Damstra, SAP, SharePoint, and the Microsoft suite.
- Track document performance and report on key lead and lag indicators monthly.
Planning & Scheduling - Plan and schedule your work to align with project timelines and evolving business needs.
What You’ll Bring...
Qualifications - Certificate IV in Professional Writing and Editing or a degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or Technical Writing.
Experience - Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar document control or technical writing role in a high-risk industry such as food, agri, manufacturing, construction, transport or supply chain.
- Proven experience developing, editing, and publishing structured business documentation.
Skills & Attributes - A strong advocate for safe work practices with a zero-tolerance approach to unsafe behaviour.
- Excellent communicator who can translate complex safety information into clear, user-friendly formats.
- Comfortable engaging with cross-functional teams to extract and document operational knowledge.
- Highly skilled in Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Teams, Word) and ERP systems such as SAP, INX, or Damstra.
- Creative problem-solver who can manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
- Positive mindset with a drive to continuously improve safety culture and operational documentation.
