This full-time, permanent position plays a critical role in ensuring safety compliance, risk management, and WHS initiatives that align with ISO 45001 and Business Integrated Management Systems (BIMS).
About the Role
Reporting to the WHS & Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and improving workplace safety procedures, fostering a proactive safety culture, and ensuring compliance with Work Health & Safety (WHS) regulations.
You’ll lead audits, investigations, and training programs, ensuring employees and operations meet the highest safety standards.
What You’ll Do
Safety Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure adherence to ISO 45001 standards, WHS legislation, and internal policies.
Auditing & Inspections: Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and workplace inspections, identifying and addressing hazards.
Incident Investigation: Lead or assist in WHS incident investigations, using ICAM or similar methodologies.
Training & Awareness: Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and WHS training to employees.
Emergency & First Aid Management: Oversee first aid systems and coordinate injury management in collaboration with HR.
Continuous Improvement: Monitor WHS performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement innovative safety initiatives.
About You
You are a safety-driven professional who is proactive, analytical, and thrives in a manufacturing, logistics, or industrial setting.
Key Attributes
Experience: Minimum 3 years in a WHS role in manufacturing, agriculture, construction, transport, or supply chain industries.
Qualifications: Cert IV in Safety Leadership (11045NAT) or similar WHS qualification.
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of risk management, incident investigation (ICAM preferred), and safety auditing (ISO 19011:2018).
Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with AS/NZS 4801, 45001, or 9001 safety standards.
Communication & Leadership: Ability to coach and influence teams, conduct training, and collaborate across departments.
First Aid & Emergency Preparedness: Current HLTAID011 First Aid + HLTAID009 CPR certification.
IT Proficiency: Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and WHS management systems suchas Vault.
