Who are we looking for?

We are currently looking for a highly experienced and disciplined Trades Assistant to join our team in (Cairns, QLD). If you’re a proactive, flexible and experienced professional with a drive to succeed, you’re the type of person we would like to welcome onboard.

Your role

In this role, your key responsibilities will include:

• Solid experience in a manufacturing or service relevant field (automotive / marine, aerospace, industrial equipment)
• Proficiency in interpreting technical documentation (mechanical drawings, work instructions, equipment schematics, electrical diagrams, etc.)
• Familiar with fabrication processes, hand tool use, and plastic / metal / composite part assembly
• Commitment to a high-quality product and strong sense of personal accountability
• Familiarity with building and maintaining electromechanical systems
• Very well organised and detail-oriented
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills
• A sincere commitment to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative culture
• Must be able to use hand drills, torque wrenches, drill bushes, nuts, and bolts. 
• Ability to interpret instructions, follow directions, and work efficiently as part of a team. 

The essential requirements

• Aviation background and hangar experience.
• Strong hand skills and knowledge of aviation processes
• Positive mindset and cultural fit.
• Strong team player;
• Ability to follow supervisory direction;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Consistent positive and proactive attitude;
• Passion for safe work practices;
• Red ASIC card (or ability to obtain); and,
• Current Australian Driver's licence
• Hold or ability to obtain baseline security clearance

Shifts are Mon - Fri day and weekend day shifts when required.

Additional qualifications

We are specifically looking for candidates capable of committing to flexible working arrangements; further, please ensure that you are available to work in (Cairns) before applying.
