Who are we looking for?
We are currently looking for a highly experienced and disciplined Trades Assistant to join our team in (Cairns, QLD). If you’re a proactive, flexible and experienced professional with a drive to succeed, you’re the type of person we would like to welcome onboard.
Your role
In this role, your key responsibilities will include:
- Solid experience in a manufacturing or service relevant field (automotive / marine, aerospace, industrial equipment)
- Proficiency in interpreting technical documentation (mechanical drawings, work instructions, equipment schematics, electrical diagrams, etc.)
- Familiar with fabrication processes, hand tool use, and plastic / metal / composite part assembly
- Commitment to a high-quality product and strong sense of personal accountability
- Familiarity with building and maintaining electromechanical systems
- Very well organised and detail-oriented
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- A sincere commitment to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative culture
- Must be able to use hand drills, torque wrenches, drill bushes, nuts, and bolts.
- Ability to interpret instructions, follow directions, and work efficiently as part of a team.
The essential requirements - Aviation background and hangar experience.
- Strong hand skills and knowledge of aviation processes
- Positive mindset and cultural fit.
- Strong team player;
- Ability to follow supervisory direction;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Consistent positive and proactive attitude;
- Passion for safe work practices;
- Red ASIC card (or ability to obtain); and,
- Current Australian Driver's licence
- Hold or ability to obtain baseline security clearance
Shifts are Mon - Fri day and weekend day shifts when required.
