Who are we looking for?
We are currently looking for a highly experienced and disciplined Airline Technical Support Representative to join our team in Cairns, QLD. If you’re a proactive, flexible and experienced professional with a drive to succeed, you’re the type of person we would like to welcome onboard.
Your role
In this role, your key responsibilities will include:
- Perform the technical follow-up of maintenance checks.
- Provide onsite support at the station where maintenance is being performed.
- Engage with and oversee contracted maintenance providers/suppliers.
- Attend MRO production daily meetings and provide daily reports to the Technical Team.
- Ensure all tasks are on track to ensure aircraft compliance with planned Turnaround Time (TAT).
- Control costs associated with assigned base maintenance checks.
- Encourage clear communication between all teams and maintenance providers to resolve possible conflicts.
- Ensure agreed Man Hours (MH) and materials are adequate for defect rectification.
- Conduct random documentation and defect rectification quality checks.
- Ensure all findings are clearly recorded and reported.
- Verify that additional man-hours raised are genuinely out of the scope of the check.
- Analyse the outcome of each base maintenance event and propose mitigating actions.
- Highlight any defects that should be included in the maintenance event, to ensure the best product possible.
- Continuously review and optimise processes, tools, and technologies to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and communication with stakeholders.

The essential requirements
- Part 66 licensed engineer or equivalent, with experience as a technical representative.
- Experience in managing Heavy Maintenance events as a technical representative.
- Experience with DHC-Q400 aircraft is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of CASA regulatory requirements.
- Fluency in English, with excellent communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to travel without restrictions
Shifts will be primarily Monday to Friday day shifts, with some possible early/late & night shifts.
