Role Description
Avionics AMEs required to support F-35 depot maintenance at Williamtown, working within a regulated Defence aviation maintenance environment.
This role suits Cert IV qualified avionics maintenance engineers who are confident with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, fault diagnosis and accurate maintenance documentation. Military aviation experience is highly regarded, and F-35 experience will be viewed strongly.
You will:
- Carry out avionics maintenance tasks within the depot maintenance environment
- Support scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities
- Perform inspections, fault diagnosis and rectification support
- Complete maintenance documentation accurately and in line with required procedures
- Work safely within a Defence aviation maintenance environment

Essential Requirements
Required Role Experience:
Avionics aircraft maintenance experience, ideally within military aviation, Defence, depot maintenance or a comparable regulated aircraft maintenance environment. F-35 experience is highly advantageous.
Maintenance Qualification / Licence:
Certificate IV in Aeroskills - Avionics, or equivalent avionics aircraft maintenance qualification.
Work Rights:
Australian citizenship is required for this role.
Location / Availability:
Local Williamtown, Newcastle and Hunter region candidates are preferred. Must be available for a 12 month contract commencing around 12 October 2026.
Additional Requirements:
Current NV1 Defence Security Clearance is required.
Skills:
Strong avionics fault-finding ability, sound maintenance documentation discipline, technical manual literacy, attention to detail, and the ability to work within controlled Defence maintenance procedures.
Attitude:
Safety-first, reliable, disciplined, technically focused, team-oriented and comfortable working in a high-compliance aircraft maintenance environment.
