Role Description
Sigma Aerospace Workforce is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter / Engine Technician to support work on gas turbine engines and aircraft components at Adelaide Airport, SA.
This role is suited to a hands-on mechanical tradesperson or engine technician with experience on PT6A, TPE331, F404/F414, F135, AGT1500 or similar gas turbine engine platforms. You will support MRO and engineering work across Defence and aviation maintenance projects.
You will:
- Carry out mechanical fitting, inspection and maintenance tasks on gas turbine engines and aircraft components
- Support engine strip, build, repair, overhaul and component maintenance activities
- Work on engine systems and related mechanical assemblies in line with approved procedures
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow quality and safety requirements
- Support MRO and engineering teams in a technical aviation maintenance environment

Essential Requirements
Required Role Experience:
Mechanical fitting, engine technician, aircraft component maintenance, MRO, Defence maintenance or gas turbine engine maintenance experience. PT6A, TPE331, F404/F414, F135 or AGT1500 experience will be highly regarded.
Maintenance Qualification / Licence:
Relevant mechanical trade qualification, aircraft maintenance qualification, engine technician background or equivalent Defence mechanical maintenance training.
Work Rights:
Must have Australian work rights and be able to satisfy site access requirements for Australian Defence and aviation maintenance environments.
Location / Availability:
Must be based in Adelaide, SA, or available to work from Adelaide Airport.
Additional Requirements:
Ability to meet required Defence, security, site access and operator compliance requirements. Current driver’s licence preferred.
Skills:
Strong mechanical fitting ability, gas turbine engine knowledge, practical fault-finding skills, accurate documentation habits, and confidence working to approved procedures in an MRO or engineering environment.
Attitude:
Safety-first, reliable, hands-on, quality-focused and able to work effectively with technical teams across Defence and aviation maintenance projects.
