Role Description
We have an exciting opportunity for an Aircraft Life Support (ALS) Fitter Training Instructor to join a Defence aviation technical training program based in Wagga Wagga, NSW.
This role is suited to an experienced ALS Fitter who enjoys mentoring and wants to shape the next generation of Aviation Technical Maintainers. You’ll deliver training across Initial Employment Training (IET) and Post Initial Employment Training (PIET), supervise trainees in a simulated working environment, and support ALS equipment maintenance within the training setting.
Typical responsibilities include:

• Facilitate, deliver and develop IET and PIET training
• Deliver instruction across ALS and Core Aeroskills
• Supervise trainees in a simulated working environment
• Maintain and service ALS equipment
• Provide specialist advice to support training outcomes
• Build relationships with customer, government and industry partners
• Guide and mentor trainees in aviation best practice

Essential Requirements

• Required Role Experience: Demonstrated experience as an ALS Fitter (Defence aviation highly regarded)
• Maintenance Qualification / Licence: Cert III ALS & Furnishing or Cert IV Life Support Equipment (preferred)
• Work Rights: Australian Citizen (mandatory)
• Security Clearance: Eligible to obtain and maintain Defence security clearance (Baseline)
• Skills: Training delivery, mentoring, strong documentation, stakeholder engagement
• Attitude: Professional, caring, outgoing, safety-first, team-focused
