About the role I Mō te Tūranga
The Professional Development Advisor plays a key role in delivering exceptional learning experiences and supporting members and customers on their governance development journey.
This role is responsible for providing high-quality business support to the dynamic team you are part of, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently. You will also be responsible for the planning, coordination, and delivery of IoD’s governance development programmes across in-person, online, and blended formats. You’ll ensure every aspect of programme delivery runs seamlessly, from logistics and facilitator coordination through to participant experience and post-course follow-up.
Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, you will:
- Deliver responsive customer and member support, managing, triaging and resolving queries, and connecting customers with the right products, services, and team members
- Coordinate key operational processes such as course enrolments, invoicing, maintaining records, and preparing accurate reporting
- Plan, organise, and host a portfolio of professional development programmes and events
- Provide trusted advice to members and participants on their governance development pathways
- Build strong relationships with facilitators, venues, and participants to ensure high-quality delivery
- Monitor course performance, support participant engagement, and contribute to achieving programme targets
- Contribute to continuous improvement, providing insights to enhance programme design and delivery

You’ll bring:
- A relevant qualification or equivalent experience, with at least three years’ experience in events, education, or a related field
- Administration experience with a high level of organisation, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience coordinating programmes, events, or training delivery
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships
- A customer-centric, solutions-focused approach
- Confidence working with digital tools, systems, and programme administration
Experience in professional services, membership organisations, or governance environments will be an advantage.
