Help shape the future of governance in Aotearoa New Zealand
At the Institute of Directors (IoD), we believe good governance helps create a strong, fair and sustainable future for New Zealand. As New Zealand's leading professional body for directors, we support more than 10,500 members to strengthen governance, make better decisions and create positive impact in the organisations and communities they serve.
We're looking for a Chief Strategy and Growth Officer to join our executive team and help shape what comes next. This is a rare opportunity to influence the future direction of a respected national organisation. You'll work alongside the Chief Executive and leadership team to lead strategy development, turn strategy into action, grow our impact, strengthen our brand and identify new commercial opportunities to deliver value for members, customers and partners.
About the role
This is a broad and influential leadership role. You'll bring together strategy, innovation, commercial thinking and customer insight to help the IoD thrive in a changing world.
You'll lead teams responsible for:
- Strategy and organisational growth
- Brand, communications and marketing
- Commercial partnerships and sponsorships
- National events and flagship programmes
- Digital innovation and customer experience
- Professional development programme growth and performance.
About you
You're an experienced, thoughtful and innovative leader who enjoys looking ahead and helping organisations innovate and grow. You combine strategic thinking with commercial acumen, and you're equally comfortable exploring new possibilities as you are delivering results. You build strong relationships, bring people with you and know how to turn ideas into action.
You may have experience in a membership organisation, professional body or purpose-led organisation, but most importantly you'll bring curiosity, sound judgement and a genuine desire to make a difference.
Why join us? The IoD is an organisation with significant influence in the governance and business communities. Our people are passionate about good governance, continuous learning and helping New Zealand organisations succeed. We are guided by values of courage, manaakitanga, respect, stewardship and lifelong learning. We value diverse perspectives, encourage fresh thinking and believe great outcomes come from working together.
If you're excited by the opportunity to help shape the future of governance and lead meaningful growth and innovation, we'd love to hear from you.
