Your impact Lead a dedicated team while shaping the next phase of Blue Knot's respected training, supervision, consultancy and knowledge to practice portfolio. Combining strong people and portfolio leadership with commercial and business development insight, you will strengthen connected learning and practice pathways, grow organisational and client relationships and lead the development of digital and blended offerings extending Blue Knot's reach and influence.
You will lead the shift towards a more scalable and sustainable portfolio, combining human expertise, quality practice, reusable knowledge and intellectual property, and contemporary digital delivery while keeping Blue Knot's purpose, values, quality and financial sustainability at the centre.
About Blue Knot Blue Knot Foundation is Australia's National Centre of Excellence for Complex Trauma, supporting people affected by complex trauma and those who support them, personally and professionally through telehealth counselling services, workshops and resources. Blue Knot also helps individuals and organisations to better respond to and support people with experiences of complex trauma through trauma-informed training, supervision, consultancy and practical resources. https://blueknot.org.au/
The opportunity Reporting to the role of President and Managing Director, you will join the senior leadership team and guide the portfolio's next phase. You will translate Blue Knot's new strategy into practical plans for portfolio development, sustainable growth and scalable delivery, supporting the team to do their best work.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and develop the team, building trust, capability, accountability and collaboration.
- Develop and implement a service plan aligned with the new organisational strategy, informed by team, client, market and performance insights.
- Shape the product and service portfolio, strengthening practice quality, sector impact, client pathways and financial sustainability.
- Grow client relationships, strategic partnerships and business opportunities, across NFP, government and corporate sectors.
- Strengthen on demand, digital and blended offerings across training, supervision and consultancy, drawing on the team's specialist expertise and reusable knowledge.
- Oversee budgets, revenue, expenditure, contribution, delivery capacity and portfolio performance, using evidence to guide investment, growth and resource decisions.
About you You are an experienced leader who brings sound commercial judgement, strong people management and an understanding of how specialist knowledge can be translated into valued services, products and client solutions. You can recognise opportunities for growth while safeguarding the quality, evidence, practice integrity and purpose behind the work.
You lead with curiosity and respect, empowering people to create clear priorities, balancing strategic development with the practical demands of leading a diverse portfolio, making informed decisions about where to invest, grow, adapt or change.
You will bring: - Strong experience leading and developing a multidisciplinary team and external specialists through change.
- Experience leading training, professional education, consultancy, practice development or a comparable portfolio.
- Demonstrated commercial and business development experience, including building client relationships and developing services in response to market needs.
- Financial confidence, with experience managing budgets and making informed decisions about pricing, costs, contribution and investment that demonstrates financial sustainability.
An understanding of adult learning, product development and contemporary digital, on-demand and blended delivery.
- Strong digital fluency and an ability to identify how technology, automation and emerging AI can responsibly support quality, reach and scale.
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice, or relevant experience in health, human services or community settings.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to collaborate and negotiate with a diverse range of stakeholders.
You do not need to be the specialist who delivers every service; you do need to know how to lead, enable and bring together the people who hold that expertise. Experience growing digital learning products, developing blended learning offerings and bringing specialist services to new audiences would be valuable.
