The Role
We currently have an opportunity for a 1st/2nd Year Apprentice Mechanical Fitter to join our Maintenance team, reporting to the Maintenance Manager
This apprenticeship will provide exposure to all areas of the Mechanical Fitter trade within a fast-paced FMCG environment. The successful applicant will work Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 2:30pm
Purpose of the Role
- Learn the Mechanical Fitter trade through hands-on experience and formal training
- Work safely under the guidance and supervision of qualified tradespeople
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of plant and equipment.
- Develop skills and knowledge through on-the-job training and TAFE
- Learn to safely use hand tools and power tools
- Follow instructions and complete tasks as part of the maintenance team
- Support daily maintenance activities across the site
- Participate in workplace safety activities and follow site procedures
- Gain experience across multiple production areas including Ham, Bacon, Smallgoods, Salami & Services
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment
About You - Have a genuine interest in mechanical work and learning a trade
- Enjoy hands-on work and fixing mechanical equipment
- Willing to learn, take direction, and ask questions
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
- Able to work well both independently and as part of a team
- Prepared to attend trade school/ attend TAFE
- Have a positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Committed to workplace health and safety
- Motivated to complete an apprenticeship and build a career in the mechanical trade
