About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Afternoon Shift Site Manager to lead operations at our Castlemaine site between approximately 2pm and 10pm.
This role coordinates all site activity across production, maintenance and cleaning teams during the afternoon shift. You’ll oversee safety, quality, and operational performance across the facility, ensuring a seamless transition between the day and night shifts.
A key focus will be managing cross-functional communication, leading site response during incidents, and driving standardisation in safety and manufacturing practices. This position is pivotal in sustaining site reliability, product quality, and team engagement.
Responsibilities
- Manage all site activities across production, maintenance, and cleaning on afternoon shift.
- Act as site lead for HSE and quality compliance, ensuring adherence to GWF standards.
- Provide emergency coordination and escalation as the site lead between shifts.
- Ensure smooth operational handover between day and night shifts.
- Monitor and drive performance against safety, quality, and operational KPIs.
- Engage and support teams to promote a high-performance and safety-first culture.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities and support cost efficiency.
- Liaise with manufacturing, maintenance, quality, and people teams to resolve issues.
- Maintain site readiness for internal and external audits.

About You You are a confident and experienced operations leader with:
- Proven experience leading teams in food or FMCG manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of safety, quality and production performance standards.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional coordination across shifts.
- Strong communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to act as the site’s senior representative and emergency coordinator.
- Experience embedding standardised processes and driving efficiency.
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering, manufacturing or a related discipline (preferred).
- LEAN manufacturing or CI experience highly regarded.
