About Us
GWF is one of the largest food manufacturers in Australia and New Zealand, employing around 6,000 people across 60 sites. GWF’s product range is diverse and includes leading brands of breads, baked goods, smallgoods, flour, milled products, and animal feed. GWF’s business units include Tip Top, DON, MAURI, and Jasol.
DON’s heritage goes back to the late 1800s. Since the beginning, we have been passionate about crafting great-tasting meat products that Australians love. We produce ham, bacon, salami, smallgoods, and fresh pork.
We take great pride in our skills, techniques, and brands, which have evolved over more than a century. We’ve grown from a small family business to become one of Australia’s largest food manufacturers, now part of the GWF group.
DON is also a leading Australian employer with offices and facilities in metropolitan and regional locations across the country. We take pride in being a responsible employer and a great place to work. We offer a safe and supportive environment where everyone can achieve their full potential.
About the Role
As the Transformation Project Management Office Lead, you will build and embed a fit-for-purpose enterprise project management office (EPMO) for DON. This is a 12-month max term contract with high visibility and impact.
You will oversee the delivery of ~15 strategic projects across capital, manufacturing, commercial, procurement and other business functions. With no direct reporting lines, you will influence and support project managers through disciplined frameworks, visibility of performance, and targeted coaching.
This role requires executive-level presence to partner with the Senior Leadership Team and act as a critical friend—investing in relationships, constructively challenging progress, and ensuring sustained transformation outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Establish and lead the EPMO, shaping structure, cadence, implementing a standard governance structure and performance expectations.
- Oversee the transformation program (circa 15+ projects) ensuring timely delivery, budget alignment, and value realisation.
- Collaborate with sponsors to align projects to strategy, track delivery, and provide coaching and support.
- Monitor and report consolidated project metrics, outcomes, risks and interdependencies to SteerCos and SLT.
- Facilitate change adoption through DON’s change model and build project delivery capability across the business.
- Build a central knowledge repository of reusable tools, templates and insights.
- Provide strategic insight and hands-on challenge, acting as a trusted advisor—not a process enforcer.
- Drive continuous improvement across the project lifecycle and transformation governance.
