Your impact The Business Partnerships Project Officers work within the Community and Sector Capacity Building (CSCB) program at Foundation House as part of our young people focused Ucan2 initiative.
The Community and Sector Capacity Building (CSCB) Program is an innovative program designed to facilitate and support the development, growth, and empowerment of communities from refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds to recover from pre-arrival trauma, resettle positively, and to strengthen these communities across Victoria, helping them to thrive.
The Business Partnerships Project Officers support and implement within the Ucan2 programs of mentoring, work experience and casual employment which is integral to supporting these youth programs. The roles include engaging with participants of the Ucan2 program and corporate program partners.
The role Reporting into the Ucan2 Business Partnerships Coordinator, the role will see you building and maintaining ongoing professional and supportive relationships with Ucan2 participants and facilitators, mentors, employers, and stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Implement the Work Experience and volunteering component of the program maintaining professional communication and relationships to maximise opportunities for Ucan2 participants.
- Deliver work experience/volunteering information sessions to groups of Ucan2 participants.
- Build and maintain positive and professional ongoing relationships with participants, employers, stakeholders and the Ucan2 team.
- Source and confirm work experience placements with employers and undertake associated administrative tasks, including attending stores for meet & greets and associated follow up.
- Support and assist the Business Partnerships Coordinator to enable the effective management of the Ucan2 Mentoring program.
- Assist and co-facilitate with the Business Partnerships Coordinator to deliver information sessions to Business Partners and participate in the delivery of sessions for young people.
- Provide individual/group support with the recruitment of appropriate Ucan2 participants for casual employment with our business partners, maintaining professional communication and relationships.
We have two part-time (0.6 EFT), 12-month fixed term positions available. The positions will be based in our Brunswick head office.
What you’ll need to successfully apply To be successful, you will need to positively respond to the below selection criteria:
- Post secondary qualifications in a relevant area (preferably business, retail or administration).
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders, both internally and externally.
- Previous experience in supporting stakeholders, and the proven ability to influence and maintain effective relationships.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Ability to be sensitive and understand the needs of young people from diverse backgrounds including refugee experiences.
- Full Drivers Licence and vehicle is essential (vehicle running costs will be reimbursed).
