The opportunity:
The Resort Operations Supervisor is responsible for the management of outdoor village operations, ensuring the day-to-day delivery of traffic control and carparking services, chain fitting bay, village bus stops, snow play areas and village set up and pack down operations. Reporting to the Resort Operations Manager, this is a public facing role responsible for the safe and efficient operations of outdoor activities.
- Manage the delivery of resort outdoor operations under the direction of the Resort Operations Manager.
- Manage traffic flow, vehicle access, parking set up and allocations, chain fitting bays, snow play areas, and support during emergency situations.
- Manage crowd safety and pedestrian movement to ensure safe visitor flow
- Provide leadership and direction to Visitor Operations Attendants, Officers and Coordinators including rostering, training and performance management, and daily instruction.
- Provide accurate information and guidance to visitors regarding parking, access requirements, general operations and resort services.
- Complete accurate logs, reporting and documentation to maintain compliance and safety standards.
- Implement and lead a positive and safe workplace culture, by demonstrating respect, adhering to policies and procedures, implementing and supporting safe work practices, and focusing on continuous improvement.
- Work closely and collaboratively with other departments including Visitor Experience, Ski Patrol and the wider Resort Operations Team.
- Establish and maintain positive and productive relationships with contractors and stakeholders to ensure a safe and positive workplace and visitor experience.
This is an on-site seasonal role at Mount Hotham Alpine Resort where you will get to enjoy spectacular views and the unique alpine environment every day, including the challenges this brings.
Lead a team that supports the daily operations and functionality of Mount Hotham during winter.
Key Selection Criteria - Demonstrated experience in parking, traffic management or outdoor operational environments.
- Be able to work in a highly physical role in extreme weather conditions.
- White Card (Work Safely in Construction Industry) (favourable).
- Traffic Management or Control accreditation (desirable).
- Experience in leadership, supervisory or management roles.
- Demonstrated customer service experience, delivering high impact services
- Flexibility and adaptability: respond to changing conditions, priorities, operational requirements efficiently and effectively.
- Demonstrated problem solving in high pressure environments.
The successful candidate will be required to: - Have full Australian working rights.
- Currently hold or be willing to obtain a Victorian Working with Children Check – Employee type
- Have a current, unrestricted Australian Driver’s Licence.
- Satisfactorily pass a police check and random drug & alcohol tests.
Location: Mount Hotham Alpine Resort, Victoria
Salary Range: $45.19 - $48.62 per hour, plus casual loading + superannuation
Contract Term: Casual, seasonal.
