Mt Hotham is seeking a skilled Heavy Plant and Equipment Operator to support our operations team in maintaining accessible roads and car parks. This role is critical in ensuring that public access areas are safe, reliable, and meet agreed service levels.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Clearing Operations: Provide operational support to the Assets and Operations Team to ensure safe and reliable access to public car parks, accessways, and essential service areas through the delivery of effective clearing services.
- Plant and Equipment Coordination: Manage the day-to-day coordination of heavy plant and equipment, including performing safety checks, handling lifting equipment, plant attachments, and addressing maintenance requirements.
- Operational Support: Apply plant and equipment operating skills in support of resort operations, including infrastructure maintenance and other works as required.
- Safety first! You’ll ensure everything is done with the highest safety standards in mind for you and your teammates.
The Resort Operations Officers work in a team of approximately 10, often breaking out into smaller groups of 2 and 3, and report to the Resort Operations & Maintenance Manager.
Qualifications and Experience: - Minimum of 5 years’ experience in plant operations in built up environments.
- Valid Work Safely in the Construction Industry CPCCOHS1001A / white card.
- Valid Victorian Working with Children’s Check (Employee).
- Current manual driver licence (Victorian licence preferred)
- Additional Essential Certificates/Tickets: Loader, Excavator, Backhoe, Heavy Rigid Driver’s Licence, First Aid and CPR.
- Desirable tickets: Forklift, EWP and Boom
- Physically capable of taking on demanding tasks in various conditions.
- Adaptable: Ability to quickly adjust to changing tasks, environments, and priorities. No two days are the same, so flexibility is key!
- Outdoor Enthusiast: Comfortable working in all weather conditions and enjoying the challenges of an outdoor work environment.
- Team Player: Proven ability to collaborate effectively with others and contribute to a positive, team-oriented workplace.
- Strong Communication Skills: Clear, effective communication is essential for coordinating tasks, working with team members, and ensuring safety on the job site.
- Basic Computer Skills: Competent with standard office applications (e.g., word processors, spreadsheets, email), data entry, and navigating digital resources.

Salary Range: $41.79 - $46.18, including casual loading
