Tell us why you want to join one of our workshops across NZ - diagnosing, repairing and testing some of the most advanced robotic products out there!
Ever wanted to crack open a robot, diagnose the fault, and get it running again? Tell us why through our Expression of Interest opportunities!
We're always on the lookout for hands-on Robot Technicians to join our workshops across New Zealand, keeping our robotic mowers, vacuums and pool cleaners running exactly as they should. We don't have a specific opening right now - but if this sounds like you, we want to hear from you, wherever in NZ you're based. When a workshop role opens up near you, you'll already be on our radar.
No commercial or robotics background needed - some of our best technicians came from hobby workshops and passion projects (think home robotics builds, or even backyard fighting robots)! What matters is real technical aptitude and a love of figuring out how things work.
Why Robomate
We're one of New Zealand's fastest growing companies (named 5th in Deloitte's Fast 50 in 2025) - a nationwide team of around 50 (with a brand-new office across the ditch in Australia), still as grassroots and hands-on as the day we started. Our proudest product, robotic mowers, is now genuinely some of the best in the world, and technicians play a real part in why customers trust the brand. (Want a feel for the vibe? Our Role
This role has two sides: the robot tech side - diagnosing, repairing and testing our robotic mowers, vacuums and pool cleaners, and occasionally heading out to a customer's property for hands-on troubleshooting - and the customer support side, helping in-store customers troubleshoot issues, liaising with suppliers on repairs and warranty claims, and keeping on top of spare parts and purchase orders. If you spot a better way of doing something, we want to hear it.
About you
You're curious about how things work, and you get real satisfaction from diagnosing a problem and actually fixing it, not just patching it over. You'll be a strong fit if you bring technical aptitude with electronics or mechanical work - think motors, circuit boards and moving parts, whether from experience or just being naturally handy - plus good communication, a methodical approach, and pride in doing the job right the first time.
You'll need a full NZ driver's licence for the occasional off-site job, and to be comfortable lifting up to 30kg, since some of our robots pack some serious weight. This is a full-time, in-store role, Monday to Friday — exact store location and hours confirmed once a position opens near you.
Why join us?
Real impact you can see - every fix gets someone's robot back out doing its job. A tight-knit, supportive team culture. Genuinely cutting-edge technology, and real room to grow as the business does.
This is an expression of interest, not an active vacancy - but we review every EOI, and we'll be in touch as soon as a Robot Technician role opens near you.
Real, personalised cover letters will be prioritised - we value the human behind the CV.
