QUALIFICATIONS:
Current, valid Tennessee LPN or RN certification
Current Driver’s License
Ability to communicate effectively with students, school personnel, and parents
Ability to maintain a cooperative, harmonious relationship within the school setting which fosters recognition and respect for every individual
2025-2026 Grant Funded Contract Position Only (181 Days)
REPORTS TO: Coordinator of School Health
JOB GOAL: This nurse will utilize the mobile clinic to perform telemedicine visits for students and staff throughout the district to improve access to care for acute healthcare needs. The nurse will also function as a health team member and resource among other school-level nurses.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Ensures compliance with procedures, protocols, and other instructions provided by the District or Coordinator of School Health
Maintains the mobile health clinic
Promotes, and performs telemedicine services
Follows individual school policy regarding contacting parents and releasing students
Maintains a professional relationship with stakeholders
Documents nursing interventions on computer software
Provides reports as required by Coordinated School Health
Maintains up-to-date health records for patients
Assumes responsibility for monitoring student and staff immunizations as required by law
Assumes responsibility for ensuring completion of student and staff injury reports
Keeps individual schools informed of any health-related issues in the school community
Orders supplies for the mobile clinic through the Coordinated School Health Office
Maintains capability of securing EMS support via 911
Maintains student and staff confidentiality, as mandated by both State and Federal law, at all times
Assumes responsibility for professional growth
Assumes responsibility for public health education to students and staff
Performs any other duties as may be assigned by the Coordinator of School Health.

This job may require lifting objects that exceed 50 lbs., with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs. Other physical demands that may be required are as follows:
