The Opportunity
Reporting to the Group General Manager, Canopy Imaging, this newly established role sits at the heart of the leadership team and is accountable for consistent, scalable operational performance across the network. The National Operations Manager leads Operations and Service Managers ensuring they are equipped, aligned, and accountable to deliver results at regional and national level.
Responsibilities will include: - Translating Group strategy into clear operational and service priorities, frameworks, and aligned, sustainable plans.
- Establishing a strong performance management rhythm across the leadership team, setting expectations for performance measures and driving continuous improvement.
- Accountability for operational delivery against budget, forecast, and commercial targets, with disciplined management of cost, productivity, and resource utilisation.
- Working collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure integrated delivery of operational and clinical priorities.
- Contributing to workforce planning, leadership capability development, and retention across the network.
- Contributing to the rolling 5-year capital plan, including modality investment, facilities, and vendor management.
- Leading the operationalisation of change, including acquisitions, new services, and business transformation, delivered through the operations structure.
- Representing Canopy Imaging in operational discussions with key external stakeholders including Health NZ, ACC, and private insurers.
What You’ll Bring - Proven leadership ability that combines commercial rigour and genuine people leadership, grounded in principles of empowerment, support and high-performance.
- Demonstrated success in leading operational and financial growth – you can hold leaders accountable, while developing their capability.
- The ability to maintain momentum, focus and consistent leadership during periods of ambiguity or change.
- Confident communication, analytical strength and comfort operating at or close to executive level in a multi-site environment.
- High EQ, passion for positive health outcomes and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equity obligations
- A relevant tertiary qualification within business or health management (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in multi-site clinical service, exposure to Health NZ, ACC or private insurer environments would be an advantage
