Senior Advisor Privacy, Government and Information
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Advisor to join a dynamic team in a key role managing all aspects of information release, privacy, and government relations. This 12-month fixed term position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a professional regulatory environment, ensuring adherence to legislative requirements while supporting strategic organisational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:Government Relations & Information Management - Manage timely and accurate responses to Official Information Act (OIA) requests and privacy inquiries
- Pimary liaison with Ministers' offices and government agencies
- Provide advice on information release policies and proactive disclosure requirements
Privacy & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with Privacy Act obligations
- Lead privacy breach response processes and incident management
Strategic Advisory - Provide high-level briefings and advice to senior management
- Identify and manage risks relating to information storage, transmission, and release
- Collaborate with the communications teams on media-related information requests
What We're Looking For:
Our ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge of the Official Information and Privacy Acts, along with a proven ability to establish and maintain senior-level professional relationships, and a good understanding of machinery of government.
You'll demonstrate tactical thinking and issues management capabilities, supported by strong written and verbal communication skills and strong project management abilities. Success in this role requires collaborative relationship-building skills and working knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
