The North Australian Pastoral Company (NAPCo) was founded in 1877 and is one of Australia's leading beef cattle companies, managing over 6.1 million hectares, largest single herd in the world and home to Five Founders Beef. NAPCo employs approximately 220 staff operating across Queensland and the Northern Territory, with 15 cattle stations, a Depot in Mount Isa, a Feedlot and Farm in the Darling Downs and an office in Brisbane's CBD.
The Graduate Program
NAPCo's Graduate Program offers a unique opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience across feedlot and station operations while receiving coaching from experienced industry professionals. A tailored program spanning 15-24 months, you'll rotate through key areas of our business, developing the technical, operational and leadership skills needed for a successful career in the beef industry. From livestock and feeding operations to quality assurance, feed milling, station work and corporate exposure, you'll gain a deep understanding of the full beef production supply chain.
Your experience may include:
- Feedlot operations, cattle husbandry, Feeding and feed allocation, Feedmill operations
- Maintenance and infrastructure activities
- Livestock handling and management
- Quality assurance and NFAS compliance exposure
- Livestock administration, reporting, analytics and business insights
- Station operations, mustering and stock crew activities
- Comprehensive safety and operational training programs
You'll work alongside experienced managers and mentors who will support your development while providing exposure to the full beef production supply chain.
About You We're looking for motivated graduates who are passionate about agriculture and eager to learn.
You will have:
- A recent degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Animal Science or a related field
- A genuine interest in the beef and livestock industry
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
- A commitment to safety, animal welfare and continuous improvement
- The flexibility to live and work in regional and remote locations
- A current manual driver's licence
