The North Australian Pastoral Company (NAPCo) was founded in 1877 and is one of Australia's leading beef cattle companies, managing over 6.1 million hectares, largest single herd in the world and home to Five Founders Beef. NAPCo employs approximately 220 staff operating across Queensland and the Northern Territory, with 15 cattle stations, a Depot in Mount Isa, a Feedlot and Farm in the Darling Downs and an office in Brisbane's CBD.
The role
As the Project Coordinator, you’ll play a critical role in supporting the planning, execution and delivery of the capital expenditure program, including infrastructure upgrades, sustainability initiatives and land access management for our properties. Reporting to the Project Manager, you’ll facilitate the rollout of the annual project and development cycle, and help evolve NAPCo’s project function, all while making a real impact on station development.
Your day-to-day will include collaborating with on station crews, contractors, and stakeholders—keeping each project humming along smoothly, whilst maintaining project budgets.
Day to day duties include:
- Develop and coordinate project timelines, resources, budgets, and stakeholders across multiple agricultural projects and sites
- Monitor project progress, risks, and compliance standards
- Prepare and coordinate documentation including reports, schedules, budgets and business cases
- Provide hands-on support to internal and external stakeholders and delivery partners, ensuring smooth project execution and implementation
- Build strong relationships with government departments, contractors, Station Managers and the broader NAPCo leadership team
- Keep projects on track by monitoring progress, identifying risks, and ensuring compliance
- Asist in the negotiation and implementation of land access agreements and handle approvals (vegetation, water licences, etc.)
This is a hands-on role where you will be a part of every aspect of project delivery, from inception to project completion. Ideally the successful candidate will have/be: - Proven experience in project coordination, ideally with agriculture or rural industry expertise
- A knack for planning, multitasking, and staying organized under pressure
- Tech-savviness with project management tools and Microsoft Office, including Excel
- A Passion for the agricultural industry and livestock operations
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Relevant Degree – Commerce/Finance, Agribusiness/Agriculture, Project management or similar
- Position will include some travel to NAPCo properties
