The North Australian Pastoral Company (NAPCo) was founded in 1877 and is one of Australia's leading cattle companies, managing over 6.1 million hectares and home of Australia's First Carbon Neutral Beef - Five Founders. NAPCo employs approximately 220 staff operating across Queensland and the Northern Territory, with 15 cattle stations, a Depot in Mount Isa, a Feedlot and Farm in the Darling Downs and an office in Brisbane's CBD.
 
Portland Downs Station, QLD
Portland Downs Station is a large-scale backgrounding property covering over 100,000ha of mostly downs country in central west Queensland about 100km southeast of Longreach, QLD. 
 
The role
We are currently seeking a Station Hand to join the crew in a permanent full-time position at our Portland Downs Station commencing on station as soon as possible. You will join the crew ensuring the efficient and effective operations of the station under the guidance of the Head Stockman or Station Manager.
 
Ideally the successful candidate will:

• Have previous experience working on a cattle station as a Station Hand
• Have experience working with cattle
• Be a confident motorbike rider and horse rider
• Be able to flex across mustering, fencing, checking waters, lick runs and other general station duties as required by immediate supervisor
• Be able to work in a team or on your own
• Comply with Health and Safety policies and procedures
