About NAPCo
The North Australian Pastoral Company (NAPCo) was founded in 1877 and is one of Australia's leading beef cattle companies, managing over 6.1 million hectares and home of Australia's First Carbon Neutral Beef - Five Founders. NAPCo employs approximately 220 staff operating across Queensland and the Northern Territory, with 14 cattle stations, a Depot in Mount Isa, a Feedlot and Farm in the Darling Downs and an office in Brisbane's CBD.

The role
NAPCo is undertaking a data centralisation and improvement project to optimise carbon accounting, herd performance reporting and the commercialisation of Sustainability. As part of this project the Livestock Data Systems Coordinator will help optimise herd performance data collection on property and at the company’s Feedlot. The position will assist with the management, access and utilisation of the data across the supply chain. Joining the Programs and Innovation team, the position reports to the Natural Capital Partner.  and will work closely with Station and Feedlot Managers and staff on sites collecting herd performance data and troubleshooting processes.
 
Day to day duties include:

• Monitoring the livestock data management systems and platforms ensuring data integrity and collection quality across the supply chain
• Observing, assessing and documenting processes for data collection, equipment application on station and troubleshooting solutions as needed
• Creating and delivering training for crush side data entry on station
• Collaborating with equipment providers to improve technical solutions to data collection, documentation and one-on-one support on station for weight scales, load bars and panel antennas
• Coordinating reporting needs and working with the business analysts to leverage and understand the data
• Seeking and collating feedback from key internal stakeholders across the business to improve data collection and utilisation
• Promoting a positive culture towards data collection and utilisation
• Extensive travel to NAPCo properties throughout the year

Whilst the position is currently based in Brisbane, remote applications will also be considered.
 
Ideally the successful candidate will have/be:

• At least one year of station hand experience on property
• Experience with livestock data management systems crush-side ie: Gallagher, Tru-Test or similar scale systems and software
• A relevant Degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Sustainability or similar desirable
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to establish relationships and rapport quickly and work collaboratively with various stakeholders
• A solutions driven systems thinker with an exceptional eye for detail
• A self-starter with the ability to work independently and prioritise tasks in a changing environment
• Self-motivated with good organisational skills
