About NAPCo
The North Australian Pastoral Company (NAPCo) was founded in 1877 and is one of Australia's leading beef cattle companies, managing over 6.1 million hectares and home of Australia's First Carbon Neutral Beef - Five Founders. NAPCo employs approximately 220 staff operating across Queensland and the Northern Territory, with 14 cattle stations, a Depot in Mount Isa, a Feedlot and Farm in the Darling Downs and an office in Brisbane's CBD.
Soudan Station, NT
Through a recent restructure, Soudan Station, formerly an outstation of Alexandria, will now operate independently, creating an exciting opportunity for a Bore Runner to join the Soudan crew. Soudan Station runs approx. 22,000 head of cattle and is located on the Barkly Highway, 1 hour west of Camooweal.
The role
Reporting to the Station Manager, the Bore Runner maintains waters and associated infrastructure and assists the crew at the Soudan Station as required.
Day to day duties include, but are not limited to:
- Monitoring and maintaining water supplies and associated infrastructure for livestock
- Re-fuelling / starting pumps
- Checking on stock
- Maintaining fences
- Working alone and unsupervised
- Performing your job safely and operating equipment in a safe manner
Ideally the successful candidate will: - Welding skills highly regarded
- Have experience working as a Bore Runner, ideal but not required
- Hold a current manual drivers licence
- Be a self-starter that able to work autonomously and unsupervised
- Be able to problem solve
- Prior mechanical experience would be highly regarded
- Be committed to working safely in accordance with NAPCo's HSE policies and procedures

Pre-employment requirements:
Prior to commencement, all new employees are required to undertake an Australian National Police Check and are also required to be vaccinated against Q Fever (all associated costs covered by NAPCO).
