Quality Control Technician

Due to continued growth, they are now seeking a Quality Control Technician with strong chemistry bench testing experience to join their quality team.
The Opportunity
This is a highly practical role suited to someone who enjoys analytical bench work and takes real pride in product integrity.
You will be responsible for testing every stage of the process, from incoming raw materials to in-process production samples, through to final product release testing. Your work will directly safeguard quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities - Perform comprehensive bench testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products
- Conduct routine and advanced analytical testing including spectrophotometry, pH analysis, titrations, and HPLC.
- Test and approve all incoming raw materials against detailed specifications
- Analyse in-process production samples to ensure product consistency
- Perform final release testing prior to product dispatch
- Prepare and standardise reference solutions and control samples for accurate comparative analysis
- Manage and maintain Certificates of Analysis for all raw materials
- Accurately document HACCP CCP and OPRP requirements
- Prepare samples for external laboratory analysis when required
- Organise, label, store, and manage retention samples in line with quality procedures
- Carry out regular calibration, cleaning, and maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Maintain accurate, audit-ready documentation of all laboratory work
- Identify quality deviations and proactively recommend corrective actions
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness and ensure sufficient stocks of reagents and consumables
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Quality function
- Ensure full compliance with GMP, GLP, food safety, and health & safety standards

What We're Looking For - Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Food Science, or a related scientific discipline
- Minimum 2 years' laboratory experience within food or beverage manufacturing
- Strong hands-on chemistry bench testing experience is essential
- Proven experience conducting spectrophotometry, pH testing, titrations, and particularly HPLC
- Experience testing raw materials, in-process production samples, and final product release
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Confident communicator with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally
