Position: NPD Manager – Confectionery Innovation
 
Lead the Development of the Next Big Thing in Confectionery!
Are you a creative and commercially minded product developer ready to take the next step in your career? A fantastic opportunity has become available for an NPD Manager to lead the innovation and development of exciting new confectionery products – from concept through to launch.
 
Based in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, you will play a pivotal role in driving the company’s product pipeline, bringing imaginative and high-quality products to market that delight customers and meet commercial targets.

• Full-Time Permanent Position
• Competitive Salary of €65,000.00 DOE
• Working Schedule: Monday to Friday- 8.00am-5.00pm- NO WEEKENDS!
• Location: Co. Meath

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the full lifecycle of new product development projects – from ideation and recipe creation to trial, scale-up, and successful launch.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Sales, Quality, Procurement, and Manufacturing to ensure alignment on timelines, cost targets, and product requirements.
• Monitor market trends, consumer behaviour, and ingredient innovation to spark new ideas and evolve the product range.
• Lead kitchen and pilot plant trials to validate processes, test functionality, and ensure product consistency.
• Refine recipes to meet sensory, nutritional, cost, and shelf-life targets.
• Upload product specifications and approve packaging artworks via customer platforms.
• Source and assess raw materials and packaging in line with company standards for quality and sustainability.
• Provide technical support during production runs and act as the key point of contact for troubleshooting during product launches.
• Maintain detailed records of formulations, test results, and project progress.

About You:

• A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in product development within the food or confectionery industry.
• Strong knowledge of ingredient functionality and manufacturing processes relevant to confectionery.
• Demonstrated success in bringing new products to market from concept stage.
• Excellent communication, organisation, and project management skills.
• A flair for creativity combined with a commercial mindset.
• Passion for developing high-quality, consumer-focused products.
• Familiarity with sustainable sourcing and clean-label development is a plus.
