Careers in Demand is partnering with a leading vocational education provider delivering training within a correctional facility in Sale. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Horticulture Teacher who is committed to helping learners develop practical skills, confidence, and pathways to future employment.
About the Role
As a Horticulture Teacher, you will work closely with vocational training teams to deliver engaging and practical horticulture training that support students in developing foundation and employability skills aligned to real-world outcomes.
This is an opportunity to move beyond traditional classroom teaching techniques and focus on helping learners build the skills, confidence, and resilience needed for life and work and within the horticulture industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging horticulture training
- Support learners to build literacy, numeracy, employability, and workplace skills
- Create a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment
- Assess, monitor, and document student progress and outcomes
- Collaborate with vocational trainers and support staff to maximise learner success
- Maintain compliance with national VET standards and organisational requirements
- Encourage learner engagement, confidence, and personal development
About You You understand that education has the power to transform lives and are passionate about helping people reach their potential.
You will bring:
- Horticulture Qualifications (essential)
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (essential)
- Experience working with adult learners and diverse student cohorts
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to adapt teaching approaches to individual learning needs
- Sound computer skills and strong attention to detail
- A positive, patient, and supportive approach to learning
The Environment This position is based within a correctional facility.
