Apply legal norms and Group policy in matters relating to Quality, Security and Environment & Comply with Safety, Quality and Environmental regulations
Direct & co-ordinate safe start up, shut down & operation of all plant associated with the Energy & Utilities section of the including the CHP, Water Treatment Plant, Energy Recovery Boiler & Rejects Treatment Plant
Return the plant to service following a unit trip or malfunction
Know the functioning of the section equipment and systems in order to be able to interpret what is happening and act in consequence.
Determine the plant manufacturing programme in accordance with production objectives, complying with quality specifications, with the greatest overall efficiency possible. In the event of deviations in quality, intervene in the process in order to correct them.
Analyse any deviations in process indicators & determine the appropriate actions
Coordinate the operational maintenance routines (TPM) to ensure that all assets are running effectively
Coordinate front line reactive maintenance through liaison with Energy & Utilities Manager & the Maintenance Department
Develop & implement the planned outage maintenance schedules & work lists
Develop, implement & issue the plant working instructions, maintenance instructions & standard operating procedures in conjunction with the Energy & Utilities Manager
Safely prepare the plant for maintenance & issue plant isolation documentation in accordance with the site isolation procedure
Issue & complete permits for work, including (but not limited to ) confined spaces & hot work
Interpret plant drawings, manuals & P&Ids to identify plant problems or improvements
Be actively responsible for the general housekeeping & up keep of the plant
Assist other functional departments as requested for
