We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our Global Sales team, focusing on the dynamic mining landscape of Peru. This pivotal role, ideally based near an international airport for efficient travel, offers the exciting challenge of identifying and pursuing new business ventures that align with our long-term strategic objectives and comprehensive solution portfolio.
Your Mission: As our Business Development Manager in Peru, you will be at the forefront of our growth strategy. Your mission extends beyond capitalizing on current market opportunities; you will be the architect of new businesses, proactively identifying and cultivating greenfield projects.
Your primary focus will be on developing high-value projects within mineral processing for our products SAG Mill Liners, Ball Mill Liners, Rod Mill Liners, AG Mill Liners, strategically positioning them for successful handovers to our regional and account management sales teams. This pivotal role offers a unique opportunity to spearhead client acquisition and build a strategic growth blueprint for sales, directly leveraging the capabilities of our advanced, automated, and sustainable foundry in Chilca, Peru, to capture significant market share.
What You'll Be Doing:
· Strategic Relationship Building: Forge, nurture, and maintain strong, strategic relationships with potential clients throughout the region. Become a trusted advisor to key accounts, customer stakeholders, and executive sponsors, accessing senior organizational levels.
· Regional Growth Strategy: Develop and execute a robust regional Business Strategy and Plan that aligns with global strategies and the overarching regional business objectives.
· Opportunity Pipeline Development: Proactively develop lead review, opportunity pursuit, and win plans. You will be instrumental in driving these plans with customer inquiry.
· Market Mastery: Continuously monitor competitor activities, marketing strategies, customer focus, products, and strategic initiatives to contribute to both regional and global competitor analyses.
· Internal Collaboration: Leverage your local network and customer insights to support the Regional Sales Managers in building and strengthening customer relationships at all levels, contributing to Weir's overall business success.
· Insightful Reporting: Maintain meticulous and accurate records of all customer interactions and project updates within our CRM (Salesforce). Provide valuable monthly reports to the broader comminution team on market trends, discoveries, and activities.
What You'll Bring to the Table (Essential Criteria):
· Senior Sales Acumen in Mill Liner & Mineral Processing Market: Around +10 years of experience proven track record of senior-level sales success.
· CRM Proficiency and Effective Technical Tools Management: Solid command of Microsoft Office for reporting, coupled with demonstrated experience working effectively with CRM systems such as Salesforce.
· Product Knowledge of Mineral Processing: Familiarity with Bradken Mill Liners products (SAG Mill Liners, Ball Mill Liners, Rod Mill Liners, AG Mill Liners) OR a similar products and aptitude to quickly learn our portfolio.
· Foundry/Mining Consumables Sales: Background in sales of foundry products or mining in the mineral processing field consumables.
· Exceptional Interpersonal Skills: Advanced interpersonal and communication skills, a driven Sales Performance with proven achievements, opening new opportunities and achieving sales targets.
· Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region and potentially internationally (expect approximately 50% travel).
· Team-Oriented Independence: A driven team player who can work autonomously while being open to sharing market intelligence and network connections.
· Fluent English: Strong communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing.
What Success Looks Like in Your First Year:
· New Business Generation: Bringing in new clients and securing new business opportunities with a strategic plan for growth in the region.
· Chilca Project Engagement: Successfully associating new business wins with the Chilca Foundry and Mining Client Engagement.
