As a Fixed Plant Planner/Estimator, you will be at the forefront of our expanding Fixed Plant department, playing a crucial role in ensuring smooth production and accurate project costing for our new product lines. This is a unique opportunity to shape processes and contribute directly to our growth in the Edmonton facility.
What You'll Be Doing:
As our Fixed Plant Planner/Estimator, you will be central to the efficiency and financial accuracy of our growing Fixed Plant department. You'll leverage your technical understanding and planning skills to generate precise cost estimates and develop manufacturing routes, ensuring seamless communication with sales and production teams. Your proactive approach will be key to optimizing our new product lines' success in the Edmonton facility. You will be responsible for:
- Develop accurate and timely cost quotations for the sales department.
- Create Method of Manufacturing (Route) based on technical specifications.
- Plan and schedule production activities to meet delivery timelines.
- Collaborate with sales, production, and procurement teams.
What You'll Need to Succeed (Essential Skills): - A basic understanding of mechanical and technical concepts related to machinery and equipment.
- Proven proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical documents.
- Strong technical aptitude with a meticulous focus on precision and accuracy.
- A firm commitment to adhering to safety procedures and guidelines.
- Experience in handling planning and cost estimation tasks.
- Comfort and competence in dealing with pricing information.
Bonus Points (Nice-to-Haves): - Previous experience in a planning or estimating role within a manufacturing environment.
- Completion of Grade 12 and post-secondary education in a related technical field.
- A Trade Certificate as a Structural Fitter or Welder, providing valuable hands-on understanding.
- Enrollment in or completion of a recognized millwright apprenticeship program.
How You'll Fit In:
You'll be a key member of our growing planning team, collaborating closely with Sales, Production, Quality Control, and our Maintenance Planner/Buyer. This role offers the chance to work cross-functionally, contributing to a collaborative and safety-focused culture where clear communication and respect are paramount.
The Exciting Challenges Ahead:
You'll be instrumental in establishing the processes for our new Fixed Plant department and product lines in Edmonton. This includes developing efficient planning and estimating workflows and gaining a deep understanding of these new products.
What Success Looks Like in Your First Year:
Your success will be measured by your ability to establish a solid and effective planning and estimating cycle for our new Fixed Plant operations.
This role will be based in our Edmonton site (6891 67 Street NW Edmonton Alberta AB T6B 3M3 CANADA)
