Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our manufacturing team in Omaha. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining manual and CNC machining equipment to produce high-quality components to precise specifications. The ideal candidate has strong blueprint reading skills, solid mechanical aptitude, and experience working in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Set up and operate manual mills, lathes, and CNC machines
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to produce parts within tolerance
• Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds for various materials
• Perform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools
• Make machine adjustments to maintain part quality and efficiency
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow safety procedures and company quality standards
• Assist with troubleshooting and minor machine maintenance as needed
Qualifications
• 2+ years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with CNC and/or manual machining equipment
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Strong understanding of tolerances and precision measurement tools
• Solid math skills and mechanical aptitude
• High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred
Preferred Experience
• Experience machining aluminum, steel, or specialty metals
• Familiarity with G-code and CNC programming edits
• Experience working in a production or industrial manufacturing setting
Work Environment
• Industrial manufacturing setting
• Standing for extended periods
• Lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally
