Quality Assurance Supervisor – 3rd Shift

Total Compensation: Approximately $95,000 per year
We are seeking a hands-on Quality Assurance Supervisor to lead food safety and quality operations on 3rd shift in a highly automated dairy/food manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for overseeing QA technicians, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining food safety standards, and driving continuous improvement across production and laboratory operations.
This position requires strong leadership, technical expertise in food manufacturing quality systems, and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervise, coach, and develop Quality Assurance Technicians on 3rd shift
• Oversee chemical, microbiological, and sensory testing of raw materials, in-process product, and finished goods
• Ensure adherence to GMPs, GLPs, HACCP, food safety plans, and all regulatory requirements
• Review and approve production records, quality documentation, and product release decisions
• Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for quality or food safety issues
• Partner with Production, Maintenance, and Sanitation to prevent and resolve quality concerns
• Conduct routine line audits, sanitation inspections, and verification activities on the production floor
• Maintain testing logs, quality records, and compliance documentation
• Support internal and external audits, including regulatory and customer audits
• Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance product quality and reduce risk
• Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and cleanliness of laboratory equipment
• Drive a culture of food safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related science field preferred
• 3+ years of experience in quality assurance within food or dairy manufacturing
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, and food safety regulatory standards
• Experience with chemical and microbiological testing methods
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Ability to work on the production floor and in a laboratory environment
Schedule
3rd shift position. Weekend and overtime work may be required based on production needs. Regular and reliable attendance is required.
