We have partnered with a growing Law firm who is looking to add a Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney to their multi-state practice. This opportunity is well-suited for an attorney with at least three years of experience defending workers’ compensation claims who is comfortable handling litigation independently and partnering closely with clients.

This role involves full lifecycle management of workers’ compensation matters, from early case evaluation through resolution. The attorney will be responsible for developing defense strategies, advising clients on risk and exposure, and representing employers and carriers in administrative and judicial proceedings.

What You’ll Do

• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, delivering clear guidance and timely case updates
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and legal briefs
• Interact regularly with judges, opposing counsel, witnesses, and internal legal teams
• Evaluate legal and factual issues to determine the most effective defense approach for each case
• Take and defend depositions while managing discovery efficiently
• Prepare for and participate in hearings, trials, mediations, and other dispute resolution proceedings
• Conduct in-depth legal research and apply findings to overall case strategy
• Manage a high-volume caseload, consistently meeting deadlines with strong attention to detail

What We’re Looking For

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and admission to the bar
• Minimum of 3 years of workers’ compensation or insurance defense experience
• Strong advocacy, writing, and communication skills
• Ability to juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Collaborative mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
• Comfortable working with Microsoft Office and Apple-based systems
• Licensed to practice in at least one of the following states: Nebraska, Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, Arizona, or South Dakota
