Overview of the Billing Analyst I

The Billing Analyst I supports daily direct bill operations and plays a key role in resolving routine and complex customer and system issues.  Work closely with agents and multiple internal departments, including Underwriting, Client Services, Finance, and Cancellations and Filings to resolve customer- and process-related issues. 
  
Duties of the Billing Analyst I

• Perform daily activities related to company direct bill operations
• Resolve routine and complex customer, billing, and system-related issues
• Collaborate with agents and internal departments to resolve customer or process concerns
• Analyze unusual transactions and customer issues to identify root causes and solutions
• Evaluate department processes and payment plan designs and recommend improvements to management
• Test billing and related system changes, analyze results, and identify deviations
• Recommend adoption, modification, or enhancement of system configurations
• Maintain accuracy and confidentiality when working with sensitive customer and company data
• Communicate professionally and tactfully with internal and external contacts to obtain information and resolve issues

Requirements of the Billing Analyst I

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., finance, business, accounting, insurance) or equivalent work experience
• One or more years of relevant work experience
• Ability to work under occasional supervision, referring unusual or complex cases as needed
• Working knowledge of billing operations, finance, insurance, or related subject matter preferred
• Strong judgment and problem-solving skills to address basic issues
• High attention to detail, recognizing that errors may result in loss of productivity or service impact
• Effective communication skills requiring tact and professionalism
• Mathematical skills and aptitude
• Strong understanding of PC hardware/software capabilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word

Schedule and Compensation of the Billing Analyst I

• M – F, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, possible hybrid after training!
• $21 - $22/hr.
