Position Summary:
The Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting, financial reporting, and fiscal operations of the organization. This role ensures accurate financial management, regulatory compliance, and strong internal controls while providing financial insight and leadership to support organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting, financial reporting, and internal control functions.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
• Coordinate and lead annual audits; serve as primary liaison with external auditors.
• Oversee cash management, banking relationships, and investment reporting.
• Direct accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
• Develop, implement, and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and account analyses.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to leadership and governing bodies.
• Supervise and support accounting staff, including training and performance management.
• Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of grants, restricted funds, and capital projects.
• Maintain and improve financial systems, processes, and reporting efficiencies.
• Support long-term financial planning and fiscal sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls.
• Experience coordinating audits and working with external auditors.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
