Workmen's Comp Investigator 
This role is in Lincoln, NE not Omaha - 
Temp role - Dec 2025 until May 2026
Salary $26.42 - $33.84 hr

Claims Intake & Management

• Receive, document, and process workers’ compensation claims.
• Review accident reports for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with policy.
• Open, monitor, and maintain claim files, ensuring timely entry of all documentation.
• Determine compensability in accordance with the Nebraska Workers’ Compensation Act.

Investigation & Evaluation

• Conduct thorough investigations into workplace injuries, including interviewing employees, witnesses, and supervisors.
• Collaborate with Safety, HR, and department leadership to identify contributing factors.
• Gather medical records, wage information, employment history, and return-to-work status.
• Evaluate claims exposure and recommend appropriate claim strategies.

Medical & Return-to-Work Coordination

• Communicate with medical providers to track treatment plans, restrictions, and progress.
• Coordinate transitional duty and return-to-work programs with supervisors and HR.
• Ensure timely payment of medical bills, indemnity benefits, and related expenses.

Compliance & Reporting

• Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local workers’ compensation regulations.
• Prepare required forms, reports, and filings within statutory deadlines.
• Work with third-party administrators, legal counsel, and insurance representatives on complex or litigated claims.
• Monitor claims for potential fraud or abuse and escalate concerns appropriately.
