Low Voltage Mechanic Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Low Voltage Mechanic to join our client's team. This role is with a regional elevator company, located in Des Moines, IA. In this role, you will primarily work on servicing and installing commercial and residential lift systems. Our ideal Low Voltage Mechanic candidate has a strong background in mechanical and electrical work. More details are below! 

Shift/Pay for the Low Voltage Mechanic:

• M-F 7am-4pm (NO nights/holidays)
• Travel is required, and the candidate needs to have a flexible schedule. All travel is around the Des Moines area within 2-3 hours
• A few overnights a month, must be able to travel 10-25% of the time (some months there is no overnight travel)
• All travel is paid for + additional per diem
• Pay: $25-30/hr (depending on experience)

Low Voltage Mechanic Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with clients to install systems on-site
• Respond to repair calls
• Read blueprints to determine how to best install the components and wiring
• Test all systems and troubleshoot any issues
• Teach the client how to use the system

Low Voltage Mechanic Requirements and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED certificate
• Electrical experience AND mechanical experience
• Electrical schematics reading skills
• Strong communication skills
• Mechanical skills
• Knowledge of electrical safety procedures
