Overview of the Assistant Underwriter

Cornerstone Staffing is partnered with a financial stable & growing insurance company who is adding to their Underwriting Department.  The Assistant Underwriter will evaluate risk for Workers' Compensation, Business owners', Commercial Auto, Commercial Property, and Professional Liability coverage.

***This is a long-term temporary position with a possibility for hire***

Responsibilities of the Assistant Underwriter

• Utilize company criteria and protocols to evaluate risk among many lines of business
• Perform independent verification of insured's operations
• Review and process change requests
• Participate in Underwriting Training for new products, directives and processes
• Participate in projects as assigned

Qualifications for the Assistant Underwriter

• Computer savvy and investigation/research abilities
• Associate or Bachelor's degree required
• Analytical abilities
• Attention to detail
• Research skills
• Time-management

Schedule of the Assistant Underwriter

• M-F, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.  Some flexibility on start/end time, at manager's discretion
• Hybrid schedule includes 2 days in office and 3 days at home.  Schedule Flips weekly
• Training would be 100% in person but then transition to a Hybrid work model. 

Compensation of the Assistant Underwriter

• $22/hr. DOE.
